Description
This traditional date syrup, known as Silon, has a thick and puree like consistency at room temperature and becomes syrupy when warmed. It is made by pressing dates and offers a unique and delicious flavor that sets it apart from conventional date syrups available in the market.
Produced in the southern regions of Iran, this date syrup is rich in protein, natural sugars, minerals, and vitamins such as B1, B2, B3, B5, A1, and C. It is known for its numerous health benefits, including energy provision during cold weather, enhancing children’s learning abilities, aiding digestion, and improving skin health.
Silon can be enjoyed on its own, with tahini, as a substitute for jam or honey, or even used in baking as a sugar alternative. It is best stored in a cool place, and refrigeration may cause crystallization, but this does not affect its properties.
