Description
The Year of the Riot is a novel written by Abbas Maroufi, first published in 1992. The story unfolds through the memories of the main character, a girl named Noushafarin.
Noushafarin, or Nousha, is the daughter of a powerful man named Colonel Nilouferi, who moves to a small town near Semnan Province called Sangsar to advance his career. The Colonel believes his daughter is worthy enough to become the queen of Iran and is determined to create the best life for Nousha, but events do not unfold as simply as he expects.
